I was riding an elevator in a public building, and on its wall I saw the amazing control panel shown here. It had a large number, presumably the floor we were on, and it had two arrays of numbers, one on a screen and one in a keypad.
I’m still not sure what the idea was. I can conjecture, but when you ride in a busy elevator you don’t want to have to play with riddles. They could have at least captioned the arrays to tell us what they do… but they couldn’t be bothered, and left the public with a really lame user experience.
Shame!
